Martin Kalin

President | Chief Financial Officer | Chairman of the Board

Marty Kalin has served as President and CFO of GFC since 2011, directing the company’s administrative and financial operations across strategy, marketing, legal, human resources, financing, insurance, and project management. He is the principal liaison with GFC’s three labor unions: the Federation of Public and Private Employees, SIU, and MEBA.

An entrepreneur in the international trade sector since 1984, Marty has founded several trade-related service companies, including the Trade Compliance Group and MK Data. He was also the founder and publisher of The Export Practitioner and the Washington Tariff and Trade Letter, two of the field’s leading publications on international trade, trade compliance, and export controls.

Marty holds both Bachelor’s (BSFS) and Master’s (MSFS) degrees in Foreign Service from the Georgetown School of Foreign Service. In 2018, he received the prestigious Georgetown Alumni Association 1820 Graduate Award in recognition of his outstanding leadership and service as an alumnus. He has been a member of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) for nearly 25 years.

Marty is Secretary and a founding board member of the Multifaith Alliance, a refugee organization that has delivered more than $600 million in humanitarian aid to displaced people in the Middle East and Ukraine. For his work with the U.S. Department of State on Lebanon and the broader Middle East, he was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the U.S. Secretary of State.
