Dale W. Hoover

Dale graduated from the Calhoon Engineering School in 1971. He started his career sailing on various U.S. flagged merchant ships as an engineering officer. Dale was then asked to come ashore in 1978 to complement various SeaLand crane departments. Working in Elizabeth, NJ. Norfolk VA. New Orleans, LA and finally at Port Everglades, FL. he was appointed to be the firm’s Lead Port Engineer. During this time he received numerous awards and recognition from SeaLand. In 1993 he left SeaLand and joined GFC as the Senior Port Engineer. During this time he was in charge of the organization’s complete operation. His duties included scheduling, troubleshooting and establishing the firm’s crane maintenance program, that is still in use today. In 2000, Dale worked for GFC on special projects outside of Port Everglades. In 2005, he returned to Port Everglades as Manager of Quality Control and Efficiency. This position was new to the industry, and charged Dale with review of the maintenance program and all jobs completed using his background and experience to tune the operation.

Now, as Vice President of Operations, Dale oversees all crane operations at all locations. With over 30 years of Crane maintenance management and repair experience, he is a valued leader of the GFC team.
